Join Artes Vocales - A premier vocal ensemble with a focus on healthy vocal technique and beautiful choral singing! The chorale is currently auditioning all voice types for the 2022/23 season. Artes Vocales’ Fall 2022 concert will feature the Southern California premiere of Misa Tango (or Misa Buenos Aires), a choral mass on Tango sounds, with renowned Bandoneon performer Hector Del Curto.

In-person rehearsals will take place on Monday nights at Hill Grace Lutheran Church in Pasadena from 7:30-9:30pm, beginning September 12th.  
Auditions will be held by Zoom on 9/4 or Mondays after rehearsals throughout the month of September.

About Artes Vocales:

Established in 2018, Artes Vocales is a Pasadena-based auditioned community chorus conducted by Dr. Steven Kronauer. The mission of Artes Vocales is to bring innovative choral programming to Los Angeles communities, to provide rigorous vocal training, and to offer career-enhancing opportunities to gifted musicians, music teachers, and composers. We are unique among community choirs in having an Artistic Director who is equally proficient in choral conducting and in vocal pedagogy, and we are dedicated to providing singers of all levels – from beginners to professionals – with a strong foundation in vocal health and technique. Our repertoire varies each season, and includes major classical works as well as exciting new work, especially in collaborations with Los Angeles-based composers.

We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit established in 2018. Students and early-career music professionals may be eligible for our Young Musicians Fellowship Program, which waives music fees and membership dues for students and early-career musicians who demonstrate financial need.

As part of our mission to offer career-enhancing opportunities to gifted musicians and music teachers, we launched the Professional Mentorship Program for Teachers of Singing, which offers stipends to early-career singing teachers who serve as section leaders, vocal coaches, and soloists within the choir.  This program is an exciting way to expand our educational reach by providing training and performance opportunities to musicians who are launching their careers in Los Angeles.
