The Creative Economy Revitalization Act (CERA), H.R. 5019, was introduced in August 2021 by Representatives Teresa Leger Fernandez (D-NM) and Jay Obernolte (R-CA) (co-leads), along with Reps. Ted Lieu (D-CA), Rosa Delauro (D-CT), and Chellie Pingree (D-ME) signing on as original co-sponsors. They introduced this bi-partisan bill with over 175 endorsements from interest groups including the arts-related unions within the AFL-CIO, the American Planning Association, the National Alliance of Community and Economic Development Associations, the Freelancers Union, the Creative Economy Coalition, and the Get Creative Workers Working Coalition of which Californians for the Arts is a founding member.
Ask your member of Congress to sign on to H.R. 5019 as a cosponsor to support the creative economy in your community!
