Auditions will be held in September for singers who want to join the Raincross Master Chorale, a 40-voice Riverside-based choral group directed by William Brakemeyer.
The first rehearsal for the new season is 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Victoria Presbyterian Church, 6091 Victoria Ave., Riverside.
Auditions will be set by appointment for Sept. 6 or 13. To schedule an audition time, contact Sandy Tarmo at 951-836-0760 or 951-688-8150 or email her at gmasandy4@gmail.com.
The group especially needs tenors and basses, but singers of all voice parts are welcome to audition. Choir members must have proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
“Singers need both the ability to read music and the ability to blend in an ensemble,” Brakemeyer said in the news release. “We take on a variety of challenging music, and we also have a lot of fun.”
The group’s first concert of the season, “Ode to Joy,” will be Oct. 30 at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Riverside. Later concerts include a Dickens-era evensong Feb. 26 and a May 30 concert called “Songs of Nature.”
The chorale also raises money to give out scholarships to young singers headed for college.
