The Joe Ferrante Music Academy in beautiful Old Town Monrovia (10 minutes east of Pasadena on the 210 freeway) is accepting applications for private voice teachers. Willingness to teach both beginning and intermediate students and up to early advanced students in voice is required. Familiarity with various genres i.e. Classical, Broadway and Contemporary music is preferred.
Position requires availability to teach for one to three days per week, it is possible to tailor the days of the week you teach for us to your existing schedule. We are open 7 days a week. Additional days per week are possible for the right candidate.
A 4 year (or higher) degree is recommended for this position, we will accept a 2 year degree in some instances. A minimum of 2 years private teaching experience is also recommended, although if you have less experience but meet the other requirements, you will be considered.
An upbeat, outgoing personality and a love of teaching private music lessons is desirable for this position. JFMA Teachers also love to have their students perform in recitals, so encouraging and preparing your students to play in public is essential.
The JFMA is a wonderful, creative environment of professionals teaching a wide range of instruments, styles and genres. We are located in a quaint shopping district of restaurants and specialty stores in the heart of Old Town. Our facility has beautiful private teaching suites, experienced and professional management, and we offer regular themed recitals, a robust awards program as well as progress reports to assist with student development and parental involvement.
We have a strong pro-teacher culture, with musical development as a priority and flexible scheduling to accommodate teacher performances.

Pay is $25/hr for qualified teachers. If you do not meet all of the requirements listed in this ad we may offer you employment at a reduced rate. Most teachers enjoy full schedules on their teaching days at JFMA. Immediate placement! Location close to Pasadena, Arcadia, Azusa, Glendora, Sierra Madre, San Gabriel, Covina, El Monte, Duarte etc.
Please note, this position is for in-person teaching at our Academy studios located at 126 and 138 ½ E. Colorado Blvd., Monrovia, CA 91016. Some students may elect to attend in person and some may attend virtually but your teaching will be in person in our beautiful teaching suites regardless of how the student attends.
